Short Eats/Appetizers to choose from

" Short-eats" small snacks, meat or vegetable, eaten in variety in a fashion. They are savory bite-sized pastries or rolls and can be quick, easy and fun. There's always a dish of sambol (a red hot combination of grated coconut, chilli and spice) available if you really want to set your mouth on fire. Short eats such as Chinese rolls (a pancake with a mutton, fish, prawn chicken or vegetable filling and fried), cutlets, patties, pastries, hot dogs, ham burgers etc. are freely available. The fish cutlets made from mashed tuna spliced with curry spices are delightfully tasty. But still, the taste of the flesh is intact.

Cakes & Cup Cakes of Your Choice

Cakes were considered a symbol of well being by early American cooks on the east coast, with each region of the country having their own favorites.

Cakes are made from various combinations of refined flour, some form of shortening, sweetening, eggs, milk, leavening agent, and flavoring. There are literally thousands of cakes recipes (some are bread-like and some rich and elaborate) and many are centuries old. Cake making is no longer a complicated procedure.

Meet Shiva

For more than 12 years I have been pouring my passion for food into my life.  I’ve always been inspired by the impact food has on living, on loving, and on life.

As I child I vividly remember the warm feelings evoked by the feasts prepared by my mother. As the youngest and only daughter I was very involved in helping prepare for family gatherings, and was keenly aware that the omnipresence of food had the effect of unifying everyone in deep feelings of celebration and tradition. I cherish those memories.

I believe that food should reflect the mood. I really make an effort to think ahead about how each dish should be prepared to really titillate the senses and add meaning to an event. Food gives life, true, but food also influences mood. The right combination of carefully selected ingredients can elevate a get-together from a meal to a memorable event. Dreamy, whimsical, corporate, even somber, can be conjured into a feast for the senses by finessing details like menu selection, presentation, adornment, and aroma.

I get really excited about turning simple events into celebratory experiences. A casual birthday or wedding, an informal get-together, there’s never a place that isn’t perfect for a sensory celebration that people will remember for years to come.

I would be delighted to plan your next event! .  To send me an email please use foodfortaste@gmail.com, or call me at (647)-237-4482

I am thrilled to be launching my business in Toronto.Cooking is my passion and I love every moment of it. From the time that I was very little I enjoyed being in the kitchen. My earliest and fondest memories were of my mother, she was an excellent outstanding cook, preparing delicious food for our family celebrations (being part Sri Lankan & Indian we had lots of them!)

It used to be great thrill to me to watch my mom cook delicious dishes and everything she touched would jest turn out to be awesome. It was an indescribable thrill for me now to follow my mom's foot steps. For me, this was the best gift and I am passionate, and crazy about what I do.

The love of good food has been tried, tested and passed on to yet another generation. Quite simply, for me, this was the most elating way to begin a brand new decade! ~Shiva
